DVSC SCHAEFFLER made a winning debut at home. Vasas was able to keep up for about twenty minutes, but the Debrecen team left their opponent standing.
DVSC SCHAEFFLER players found themselves up against an extremely enthusiastic and defensively aggressive opponent in the match against Vasas. With the support of goalkeeper Vártok, the guests’ defense worked quite effectively, and under the leadership of former Lokista player Nikolett Tóth, the Angyalföld team was also sufficiently creative in attack. Our team struggled at the beginning of the match, in fact, for a good 20 minutes. Vasas kept up with the home team throughout, but their momentum was slightly broken when Nikolett Tóth was sent off with a red card after he pulled down Konszuéla Hámori by the neck. At the beginning of the half, Placzek’s saves came, from which we scored a couple of easy goals, thus building a five-goal lead at the break. In the end, it closed with 56 percent. As difficult as it started, it turned out to be an easy victory.
By the beginning of the second half, our defense had also come together, so the scissors quickly opened up. In the 36th minute, there were already seven between them, and in the 45th minute, there were already ten. In the meantime, Jessica Ryde stepped in and saved the goal. Ada Placzek also closed with 39 percent after 40 minutes of play, while the Swedish goalkeeper started with 5/5! Due to the large difference, Zoltán Szilágyi was able to rest his players and our home-grown young talent, Dorottya Baranyi, also got a chance. In the last quarter of an hour, the match took on the character of a practice match. Ryde finally closed with 56 percent. As difficult as it started, it turned into an easy victory.

COACHES’ SPEECHES:
Zoltán Szilágyi: Vasas started well and overall the guests played well. We started both halves a bit sleepy, with quite a few mistakes. We were not very effective in defense for twenty minutes. We still have to learn the Wednesday-Saturday rhythm, but I hope we will get used to it soon. The second half was more confident, I am glad that I was able to give everyone a chance to play.
Csaba Konkoly: Congratulations to the home team, the end was convincing. We arrived with the plan to make things difficult for the CL participant and we started well, but then we gave away quite a lot of balls, which opened up the gap, because the home team took advantage of our indecision. We played an educational match, it was good practice, because we lost our point guard and so we had to play as a team. In the last ten minutes, we played handball that was acceptable.
