We beat Mosonmagyaróvár with six goals

There was a chance for DVSC SCHAEFFLER to win against Mosonmagyaróvár by a bigger margin than it lost in the fall, but in the end it didn’t work out. It was an easy victory, but the girls couldn’t be happy about it.

Motherson Mosonmagyaróvár won by 30:23 in the match between the two teams in the fall. DVSC SCHAEFFLER’s goal was to – primarily – win the game, and then, if there is a chance, even win by more goals than it lost in October. Well, there was a chance…
The Loki got really stuck at the start. By the time the Debrecen girls really warmed up, Mosonmagyaróvár already led by three goals. We had to wait almost four minutes for our first goal. Then Grosch overtook Szemerey. They managed to equalize in the sixth minute, but then the visiting team trailed again with two goals. The first quarter of an hour was all about the defenses, both teams struggled in front of the other goal. We just moved into the 16th minute, when we took the lead for the first time with Petrus Mici’s half-court roll. But the visiting team had an answer for that too. The game was hectic in the first half. Sometimes one, sometimes the other team led. At halftime, we had the advantage: 16:15.
For the second half, Catherine Gabriel replaced Bartulovic in the goal and started very well, blocking three shots in a row. Loki also pulled away with three goals. In the 43rd minute, we led by four for the first time, with Kácsor’s empty net goal. And the players of DVSC SCHAEFFLER then sensed that they might even have the coveted eight-goal victory, which could be important in terms of the result against each other in the final settlement. The defense was very organized, Cathy continued to defend well and we were more and more effective from the front, The advantage gradually increased. In the last five minutes of the match, we led with five, six, even seven goals, and even had the chance to score eight, but in the end we “only” won by six. It wasn’t about the team…

Coaches’ speeches:

János Gyurka: It was a match worthy of a rally, as far as excitement and quality are concerned. Regarding our own game, I would say that during the long break we lost the form we had shown so far. The first half was okay, but in the second we didn’t have much of a finishing player. What is commendable is that we fought for sixty minutes.
Zoltán Szilágyi: I can only congratulate the girls. We did everything to win, this was our primary goal, which we solved with confidence. I have a sense of loss, as the result against each other can be important. Our exploitation of the situation was not good in certain periods, but I can only praise the defense. I think the final order in the championship has not been decided yet.
