With a 30-26 victory over Gloria Buzau, DVSC SCHAEFFLER entered the finals of the Erdély Kapuja Cup.
Due to Petrus Mirtill’s illness, she could not be with the team, instead the young Kelemen Dorina was included in the traveling squad, so DVSC SCHAEFFLER started the preparatory tournament in Beszterce with 15 players.
In the first semi-final, the girls met the Romanian Gloria Buzau. We were able to discover many familiar faces in our opponent’s team, as Tamara Pál joined the club from MTK, Papp Nikolett from Siófok, and Croatian Tea Pijevic was a player of Alba-Fehérvár last year.
The teams started at a high pace, in addition to two goals each by Míra Vámos and Petra Füzi-Tóvizi, Gréti Kácsor added one, and we led 5-3. Then, for many minutes, there was no goal shot, Buzau reversed. We caught the thread again, took back the lead, and then the Romanian team’s minutes followed again (9-11). DVSC SCHAEFFLER clearly dominated the start of the first half, so we went to rest with a two-goal lead.
In the continuation, with the goals of Grosch Vivien, Petra Füzi-Tóvizi and Gréti Kácsor, the difference increased to five, and it became permanent. In the 44th minute, after a goal by Konszuéla Hámori on her birthday, we had a six-point advantage for the first time (25-19), and Koni was also effective when the difference became seven (29-22).
The girls made a lot of bad decisions in the beginning, fortunately the defense was mostly fine, so it was also possible that we scored only once in the last ten minutes. DVSC SCHAEFFLER won the first game of the Erdély Kapuja Cup 30-26, and with that they reached the final on Sunday, where they will play the winner of the Gloria Bistrita-Besancon match at 17:00 Hungarian time.
