Our right winger became a member of the national team as a player of DVSC SCHAEFFLER, he made his debut in Debrecen at the European League and in the current season he is the most successful seven-point shooter in the Champions League. It is no wonder that both the club management and Szasza thought that everything was in place to continue working together.

Alexandra Töpfner moved from Székesfehérvár to Debrecen in the summer of 2022, and quickly became a favorite of Loki fans. Our right winger made his debut in the senior national team, and in red and white he also made his mark in the European League. In this year’s CL season, she converted 21 out of 23 penalty kicks, making her the most effective seven-point shooter in the elite series, and her 91.3 percent rate is the best among those who attempted at least 10 seven-meter shots.
Not to mention, after six rounds, with 34 hits, she is 10th on the BL’s top scorer list. The handball player in jersey number 28 has played in 49 matches as a player of DVSC SCHAEFFLER and scored 226 times. Her goals-against average (4.79) is the eighth best on the club’s all-time list. Last season, she was in her element especially during the four-game away series at the end of the championship (Székesfehérvár, Kisvárda, Békéscsaba, Dunaújváros), finding the back of the opponents’ net a total of 39 times. Her individual goal record, in the last round of the 2022/23 championship, was born in Dunaújváros, she scored 13 goals against Kohász.
She has played 12 times in the senior national team so far, on Sunday, the friendly away match against Germany could be her 13th game in the national team.
“I’m happy that the club’s managers thought they could still count on me – said Szasza, whom we caught up with on the team’s cohesion. – I signed a contract with Debrecen last summer because I wanted to play in the European Cups. Last year we played in the Europa League and this season in the CL, and these games are very important to me. Our goal is the bronze medal in the championship and promotion to the Champions League, the season is still long, but I hope we achieve both. I feel good in Debrecen, the community is very good, there is no division in the dressing room. We proved that we can fight for each other, and this was also the case in the CL match against Brest last Saturday. We scored two very important points against the French star team. I am confident that I will have many more such experiences with the team!”
