Today, the Hungarian women’s handball team will play its first match at the World Championship jointly organized by Denmark, Norway and Sweden. Ours will start against Paraguay, who play in an unpleasant style, at 20.30.

The players of the Hungarian women’s handball team already booked their accommodation on Tuesday, and on Wednesday they trained in the Helsingborg Arena. The first opponent is Paraguay, which our national team has never met before, and the South Americans have never made it past the first group stage. This will be Paraguay’s fifth appearance at the World Cup and the first time they have been there in two consecutive tournaments.

Our players agreed that the South Americans represent an unpleasant style, so they should not be taken lightly, and with that, a confident victory is mandatory. Defeating Cameroon in the second group match on December 2 will not be a problem for our team. For Vladimir Golovin’s team, the meeting against Montenegro on December 4 can be the first serious test of strength. This match could be decisive in terms of the position for the Olympic qualifiers.
