Even more than last year, sixty children took part in this year’s central selection round in Debrecen. The youngsters who are considered the most talented by the academic experts will go on to the second round, which will be held at NEKA.
From the 2022/23 season, the academies will act in unison, and the applicants will have to determine which of the rounds in Budapest, Debrecen and Győr they will compete in in the first round. From the first round, the number of professionals will be reduced for the second round, which will be held at NEKA. The set of exercises was uniform at all locations, and was performed by the children under the guidance of the evaluation specialists of the local academy, and the system of criteria contains the same elements. The first round was held on October 30 in the Elek Gyula Arena in Budapest, the second round was hosted by the Győr ETO Handball Academy on October 31. On November 2, in the third round, sixty children appeared in the Imre Hódos Rendezvénycsarnok. Forming two training groups, they were able to show their skills to the interested professionals from different academies who were watching them. After the greetings, the leading fitness coach of our academy, Sebestyén Örs, led the warm-up, and then the balls were brought out. The outfield players worked under the guidance of Viktor Győrvári and Blanka Márián during the training sessions, while Erika Kalocsai worked with the goalkeepers. The children are evaluated by experts from the FTC Handball Academy, NEKA and Győr ETO Academy in addition to ours, so a complex picture of each applicant is formed. The professionals will decide which players will have the opportunity to show their skills in the second round, at NEKA, on November 20.
