In an extremely close match, Buducnost Podgorica won by seven meters against the three-time BL winner Vipers Kristiansand in the final, so the Montenegrin champion could take home the I. Kermann IT Cup.
An almost full house awaited the final teams of the 1st Kermann IT Cup. Vipers’ appearance in the final was hardly a surprise, even more so for Podgorica. The Montenegrin team played with great will and passion against the star-studded Ferencváros on Friday night and finally defeated the Hungarian champions.
The girls from Podgorica also demonstrated a similar fighting spirit in the final. From the beginning of the match, they proved to be a worthy opponent. The three-time BL winner didn’t really know what to do with this habitus. Although the Norwegians took the lead several times during the match, they were unable to build up a reassuring advantage, in fact, Podgorica had a better chance to win at the end of the match, but the Vipers, just like they did against DVSC SCHAEFFLER in the Champions League last year, equalized at the last moment.
Thus, the fate of the I. Kermann IT Cup was decided with seven shots. In Podgorica, Hauge also saved two penalties, which was enough for the Montenegrin champion to win the I. IT Kermann Cup, to a huge surprise. The best player of the tournament was Nina Koppang (Vipers), the best goalkeeper was Sakura Hauge (Buducsnoszt), and Katrin Klujber (FTC) took home the special award for top scorer.
