Kristin Thorleifsdóttir played in all the matches of the Swedish national team, which finished in fourth place at the world championships that ended on Sunday. DVSC SCHAEFFLER signed a two-year contract with her.
The 25-year-old, 182-centimeter-tall right-handed shooter got to know the basics of the sport in his home country, Rimbo HK. From there, she joined Rosersbergs IK at the age of 14, then the second division Skånela IF followed, already among the adults. The next step was H65 Höörs, one of Sweden’s leading teams, who made their debut here on the European Cup circuit. Kristin then moved to Denmark, joined Randers in 2021, and a year later signed a contract with Horsens HK due to the club’s financial problems. At the Danish first-class club (where she was a teammate of Tamara Haggerty), she quickly became a real leader, and the fans also liked him, and in the 2022/23 season she was voted the best of the season.
She made her debut in the Swedish national team in 2019, against Norway, and since then she has appeared in 53 matches. In recent years, with the national team of his country, she was one step away from the podium of a world competition four times, as Sweden finished in fourth place at the 2020 and 2022 European Championships, the 2021 Olympics, and this year’s World Championship. Kristin Thorleifsdóttir signed a 2-year contract with our club.
