Succesful handball conference in Debrecen

About 120 professionals participated in the conference of the Handball-specific Methods Center in Debrecen. In addition to the lectures and workshops, the participants could also watch the demonstration training of DVSC SCHAEFFLER.

Locomotor prevention among youth players. Two excellent staff members of the Sports Medicine Department of the University of Debrecen, assistant professor Dr. Zsuzsanna Gyurcsik and Prof. Dr. Sándor Szántó, gave a spectacular lecture with this title.

“Every academy has already had a professional day this year. The last stop of this series was ours, in Debrecen – György Papp, professional director of the DVSC Handball Academy, introduced the event. Our goal is to work on topics that build on each other, but are always different. Based on this, we chose two well-known experts from the field of sports health, who are from gthe University of Debrecen and gave a presentation on a topic of musculoskeletal prevention, which we have not investigated so far. Listening to the opinions of the participants, it seems clear that we made the right decision when we chose this topic.” Afterwards, DVSC SCHAEFFLER’s coaching duo, Zoltán Szilágyi and Kitti Kudor, gave a glimpse of the team’s basic defensive principles. The adult team and the talented young players of the DVSC Handball Academy gave a taste of how to defend against situations with a disadvantage.

The afternoon professional discussions took place on three different topics. In addition to the academic sports professional entry requirements, the sports science and fitness entry requirements were also discussed.

“Entry requirements are a very important area in the academic system – Dr. Ferenc Kersch, sports director of the Handball-specific Methodology Center, explained the central theme. We have reached the point where we can have central selectors and we want the first academic year not to be spent trying to bring the players to the same level, but to get children from the quasi “pre-academy” system to the selectors who can prepare for the tasks of the selector on the one hand , and on the other hand, they should be basically aware of the requirements that a child entering the academic system must already know.”

The accompanying event of the professional day was the tournament of the youth academy born in 2008-2009, which brought high-quality matches again this year.
