Compared to this period of preparation, the bronze and silver medalist of the previous championship played a particularly high-quality match. DVSC SCHAEFFLER finally won 34-33 in the intense final game.

Two BL participants met in Hódos on Friday afternoon, and since it was DVSC SCHAEFFLER’s first home training match – and Fradi’s summer debut – there were a lot of people in the stands of Hódos. Our Swedish legionnaire, Elinore Johansson, could not be in the match squad due to illness, but Konszuéla Hámori and Petrus Mirtill also sat on the bench only as “emergency reserves”, since they are not completely healthy either.

After the groping play of the first few minutes, the goals began to pour in, especially for us when Planéta Szimonetta was in her element. Fradi withdrew, but we equalized 5-5 with Petra Vámos’ goal, and in the 12th minute, Gréti Kácsor’s third goal gave us the advantage (8-7). In attack, both teams performed extra well, and it was also seen that there is still room for polishing on both sides until the sharp matches. The last moment of the first half was Szímó’s overtime free throw goal, which gave us a 19-18 lead.

In the second half, the green and whites quickly reversed, and the sides alternated leads until the final game. After the bombs of Liliána Csernyanszki, Gréta Kácsor and Petra Vámos, applause often roared in the stands, and Petra Füzi-Tóvizi was effective as a substitute. In the end, just like in the first half, Planéta Szimonetta had the last word, we won 34-33 against Fradi. Far-reaching conclusions should not be drawn from the victory, but it is important that we were able to play against a BL team and in a BL rhythm.
