Poor start, easy victory

After the bad start, DVSC SCHAEFFLER pulled itself together and confidently won the two championship points in Dunaújváros.

We didn’t start the match well, even though we had chances, Alexa Wéninger saved, or we missed the goal. On the other side, Rebeka Arany and Sára Paróczy were both effective, so Kohász took the lead. We were in the sixth minute, when Gréta Kácsor scored our first goal. In the continuation, our defense improved, and Gabrijela Bartulovic saved amazingly, so we quickly turned things around, and then the difference gradually increased.
After the break, Debrecen’s advantage quickly swelled to over ten goals, even the excellent goalkeeper, Gabi Bartulovic scored two goals, and to our delight, our young academy player Kelemen Dorina also entered the final game well, also scoring twice. Thanks to the fans from Dunaújváros, who created a great atmosphere all the way, and in the spirit of the old red-white friendship, cheered up the girls from Debrecen as well!

Coaches speeches:
Róbert Paic: We started like a dream, but unfortunately it didn’t give us enough confidence, DVSC organized their lines quickly, took the lead, the difference at halftime was real. At the beginning of the second half, our defense was weak, then we rallied at the start, our defense improved, so we were able to overcome the deficit.
Zoltán Szilágyi: We knew it wouldn’t be easy, since we played a CL match on Sunday. Dunaújváros started the match well and focused, gaining an advantage. I’m glad that we were able to turn things around after that, we kept the match under control, but I can’t be satisfied with our defense in the second half. The home team deserves praise because, despite the big difference, they fought hard throughout.
