Our player’s van was broken in daylight. Robbers took everything moveable. Luckily the girls had travel insurance.
Four DVSC SCHAEFFLER players went on vacation, the final destination was the picturesque Amalfi in the Gulf of Salerno, but the girls stopped for a short sightseeing tour of Rome on the way. They parked near the city center and took the metro to admire the sights of the “eternal city”. By the time they got back to the minibus, the vehicle had been broken into – the window on the right front window had been broken, and the door handle above the driver’s seat had been pulled off – and all the girls’ luggage had been taken. The stolen suitcases contained clothes, technical items, documents and cash, the damage was several million.
Fortunately, they took out insurance, so it is expected that the insurance company will reimburse the damage. Our players turned to the local police, but the uniformed officers were not very helpful, they did not even want to accept the complaint. Finally, after a two-day procedure, a complaint was filed against an unknown culprit with the help of a local lawyer. The vehicle was repaired, but the girls decided not to continue their journey after all this, and started heading home.
In relation to what happened, the players do not wish to comment further than what is described here!
