Olympic qualifier: we had the warm-up

As expected, the British national team, which replaced Cameroon, could not put up any substantial resistance, so the Hungarian national team warmed up to the Olympic qualifier with a light victory.

Although victory against Cameroon would have been mandatory at the opening of the Olympic qualification tournament in Debrecen, Great Britain, which was invited to replace the African national team, which was absent due to travel and other difficulties, could not be a meaningful partner for the Hungarian national team. Since the British team can be placed at the national NB II level, we could not have any special expectations for the island ladies, who tried to enjoy being able to show themselves in front of an audience in the Phoenix Arena. On the opening day of the qualifiers, all three DVSC SCHAEFFLER players were in the Hungarian squad, Petra Vámos and Petra Füzi-Tóvizi started, and Gréta Kácsor entered the field as a substitute. The gap between the teams was already visible in the first minutes, in the twenty-first minute we led with ten goals (15-5), in the thirty-fifth with twenty (27-7), and in the forty-ninth with thirty (39-9). In the meantime, the British tried the seven-on-six game for a long time, which with such a difference in skills is about as dangerous as driving a Formula 1 car blindfolded on the Monte-Carlo track. Of these, we scored four empty net goals in a row – two by Petra Füzi-Tóvizi. The end was 49-11, the warm-up was done, the substantive parts of the Olympic qualifiers will begin against the Swedes on Friday at 6 p.m.
