DVSC SCHAEFFLER beat Békéscsaba by a large margin with an overwhelming performance, sometimes even playing for the audience. For a moment there was no question as to which team would win the year-end match.

Before the match, we greeted the coach of the Hungarian champion DVSC, Ákos Komáromi, on the occasion of his 80th birthday, who received a huge round of applause from the stands.
As a matter of fact, DVSC SCHAEFFLER’s playing also deserved applause this evening. The girls from Debrecen did not leave even the slightest chance to play a close match in Hódos against Békéscsa. After a well-defended guest attack, we scored a goal from the first opportunity through Sercien-Ugolin, who was very active at the beginning of the match. Loki built up its advantage nicely, in the tenth minute the difference was three goals, and at halftime it was already four goals. Our defense really came together in the second half of the game, after which we left the visiting team standing. Töpfner sold the seven-meters one after the other, we had quick starts and in the 26th minute Konszuéla Hámori also scored, for the first time after a long absence. We built a six-goal lead at halftime (18-12).
At the beginning of the second half, DVSC SCHAEFFLER left its opponent standing. Jessica Ryde came in sensationally, the defense was unplayable. The visitors managed to take advantage of the 11-minute scoreless period. The goals from the cross came, the quick starts and the difference was ten goals in a flash. The stakes match turned into a gala match, with real joy. All of Loki’s outfield players scored, including team captain Dóra Hornyák, who was celebrating her 250th DVSC match. In the end, only the difference remained in question. For the first time this year, we scored more than forty goals. The end was 42-23.

COACHES’ SPEECHES:
Zoltán Szilágyi: I’m glad to see the team smiling and that the girls enjoyed the game. In the beginning, Békéscsa made it difficult for us, but by the end of the first half we gained a reassuring lead, and then we started the second half very well. Our defense was fine and Jessica Ryde also defended well, we were able to take advantage of this. We scored quick goals in a row, I trust that we will continue this momentum. Sándor Rácz: Unfortunately, the first half was not close either, especially the second. Debrecen played a very good match, but we are not in as good shape as we were before. We also had patients and injured people. We made a lot of mistakes in both defense and attack, we didn’t really have a goalkeeping performance, but DVSC played very convincingly.
