Four countries, five national teams: six DVSC SCHAEFFLER players were called. Out head coach and his assistant are missing too because of national team duty, therefore our team will be incomplete on this week.
Petra Füzi-Tóvizi and Petra Vámos started this week with Hungarian senior national team, Liliána Csernyánszki with Hungarian juniors led by Zoltán Szilágyi and Kitti Kudor, Mariana Costa with the Brazilian which trains in Portugal, Tamara Haggerty with the Dutch and Jovana Jovovics with the Serbian team. Last two teams are preparing for European Championship qualifiers.
Since Hungary can be a co-organizer at the 2024 Women’s European Championship without a qualifier, at the time of the qualification matches it will participate in the EHF European Cup together with the other two hosts of the continental tournament, Austria and Switzerland, as well as Norway, which is participating in the European Championship as the defending champion. The Hungarian national team, which is already preparing in Debrecen, will play against Norway on Wednesday, October 11 at 7:00 p.m. in the Főnix Csarnok, and then on Sunday, October 15, at 5:00 p.m., the opponent will be Schwechat, Austria.
Petra Vámos is currently missing from the Hungarian squad due to illness. As the national team head coach Vladimir Golovin said in his interview on the PirosFehér Podcast, he is confident that our centre back will be able to join to the squad. The junior national team managed by the Szilágyi-Kudor duo trains in Budaörs this week and will play a test match with the local first-division senior team. The Brazilian national team prepares for the Pan American Games, with Mariana Costa on board, training camp in Lisbon this week, and has a friendly match with Benfica. As a member of the Dutch national team, Tamara Haggerty will play home, in Almere with Portugal on Thursday and away, in Finland on Saturday. Jovana Jovovic plays European Championship qualifiers too, as a member of the Serbian national team. On Wednesday, they will host Bulgaria in Zrenjanin, and on Sunday will play as a guest of Turkey in Ankara.
