Even without their players missing due to illness, DVSC SCHAEFFLER won a confident victory with a big margin at the home of DKKA. Alexandra Töpfner scored 11 times this time, and Liliána Csernyanszki scored eight goals.
The match began with the greetings of our European bronze medalists, Petra Füzi-Tóvizi, Petrus Mirtill and Nikolett Tóth, as well as Zoltán Szilágyi. It was a nice gesture from the natives. In return, they also received a gift from us, albeit against our will. Because of illness, Kristin Thorleifsdóttir, Jovana Jovovic and Vivien Grosch did not travel to Dunaújváros either. Ours was the first attack, and Dóra Hornyák was also in the starting line-up in the hole shooting position. We took the lead with Petrus Mirtill’s usual eye-catching goal and the team remained in momentum after that. After seven minutes we were leading 5-1. Later, Nikolett Tóth also got a chance in the shooting position, and it was his goal that made it five for the first time. Then the head coach of the home team, Péter Gulyás, asked for time. This somewhat helped the home team, who caught up to three goals by the middle of the period. Then Zoltán Szilágyi asked for time, which seemed to work, as the five-goal difference was restored in two minutes. It is interesting that Hámori Koni was also mostly in the shooting position in the first half, and he recalled his old self and fought the sevens one after another. DVSC SCHAEFFLER played dynamic and good handball even without its missing members. Gabrijela Bartulovic, who was on loan in Dunaújváros, didn’t really know what to do with our attempts either, so we already led by six goals at the break.
The second half started with an empty net goal by Dodó Hornyák. Míra Vámos continued instead of Petrus, and Jessica Ryde instead of Catherine Gabriel. Dunaújváros, attacking without a goalkeeper due to a man disadvantage, scored two empty-net goals right at the beginning of the half, both of which were scored by Hornyák, so the difference became eight in a flash, and then nine after Töpfner scored from a rush. Less than three minutes had passed in the second half when Péter Gulyás asked for time again. This time it didn’t work either, the excellent DVSC SCHAEFFLER increased the difference to 12 goals in a few minutes. Alexandra Töpfner was particularly in her element, in the 38th minute she already had ten goals. We can remember that in the previous round he scored just as many against Békéscsaba. In the middle of the half, the difference was already 16 goals, while Dunaújváros only had 13 goals… Then Kiss Csenge replaced Töpfner with 11 goals, and Kelemen Dorina also came on. It is gratifying that both of them scored in the hair. After Békéscsaba, Loki also beat Dunaújváros by a large margin. As it should be…

Péter Gulyás: Our five individual defenses were the only appreciable part of the match, which lasted six minutes. We were not in the same weight group as Debrecen. We have a decisive match next week, we have to prepare for it. We have been in a similar situation before, I am confident that this time there will be support in the team.
Zoltán Szilágyi: We have a difficult week behind us, many people got sick, so we had some absentees in the match. The team deserves praise for the fact that, despite this, we played a concentrated and good game. Our defense was solid from the first minute. At the beginning of the second half, the fate of the two points was decided, in the end I was able to give everyone a chance, which is gratifying.
