Our Brazilian right-winger received another half-year contract from our club after her serious injury suffered in last year’s Hungarian Cup semi-final, at the end of which she will leave DVSC SCHAEFFLER.
In March, we already announced the departure of the world champion South American player, but he had not yet committed himself to anything when April 22 came, the day of the Hungarian Cup semi-final against Győr. There was stunned silence in the Tatabánya hall when Mari collided with our goalkeeper Catherine Gabriel in an innocent situation. It was clear that the player would be out of action for several months after breaking his cheekbone, and our club did not want to leave him alone in such a situation, so despite the previous decision, he signed a contract until the end of 2023. In the fall of 2023, Mariana Costa played in 12 matches, including five BL meetings, in the jersey of DVSC SCHAEFFLER, only missing a few matches because of the Pan-American Games. After such a half-season, it will be much easier for Mari to find a new team than it would have been in the summer, injured. The Brazilian winger parted ways with Loki with a heavy heart. He wrote his farewell lines literally from among them.

The full-hearted player made his club debut on September 10, 2021, in the home match against Kisvárda, and scored 115 goals in a total of 63 matches. He was an active part of two championship bronze medals and third place in the Hungarian Cup.
