Here comes the Eastern Derby

On saturday, at 18.00, in the penultimate match of the season, DVSC SCHAEFFLER will play in the home of the old rival, Békéscsaba.

The Békéscsaba-Loki duel has a serious past. So far, the two teams have met 81 times in the NB I, and regardless of the rankings, these matches always had a fiery atmosphere. The eternal balance is tipped in our favor, since in addition to 56 victories and 3 draws in Debrecen, the purple and whites were able to celebrate 22 times, and they were last able to defeat DVSC in February 2019. After the five eastern derbies played since then, we could celebrate.

In addition to the prestige, Saturday’s EUbility Group-Békéscsabai Elörre NKSE-DVSC SCHAEFFLER match has serious stakes, as the purple and whites’ stay in the first division is not yet certain, and for us the two points are important because of winning the bronze medal. In Békéscsaba, they changed coaches just over a week ago. The new master, József Farkas, made his debut on the bench with a valuable away win. In Érd they won 37-24.

It is certain that the hall with a great atmosphere will await the players of the two teams. Zoltán Szilágyi’s students benefited from the two confident victories last week, but the girls know that they need two more victories for the bronze medal!

“We discussed that the most important thing in the last four games is to get the points. It is a special pleasure that we were able to win so confidently in Fehérvár and Kisvárda – said the shooter of our team, Planéta Szimonetta. – The new coach always gives a team momentum, this was also proven in Békéscsaba last week. A good start will be important, if we get into the game like we did in the previous two meetings, then there should be no problem. The main thing is to get the two points.”

Máté Bujdosó and Viktor Horváth will lead the EUbility Group-Békéscsabai Előre NKSE-DVSC SCHAEFFLER match starting on May 20 at 6 p.m.

The meeting will be broadcast live on the DVSC Handball YouTube channel.
