Into the Champions League with stable supporters

The circle of supporters behind DVSC SCHAEFFLER has been stable for years and is getting stronger. Before the new season, all of our existing sponsors stayed behind the team, and five new sponsors also arrived.

DVSC Kézilabda Kft. has been working for almost a decade now to develop a permanent, stable circle of supporters around the club. This is the basis of the successful performance and continuous development of the DVSC SCHAEFFLER women’s handball team, which won bronze medals in the championship and the Hungarian Cup last season.

“The construction of the team is continuous and systematic, thanks to this, this past period has brought a lot of good results – said László Papp, mayor of Debrecen, at our season-opening press conference. – I would like to thank Zsolt Ábrók for his self-sacrificing work over the past decade, as this will be his tenth season as manager. DVSC SCHAEFFLER is now a stable contender for the bronze medal and can compete in the most prestigious cup series, the Champions League. In addition, very serious professional work is going on at the DVSC Handball Academy, so the tradition that there are always self-educated players at DVSC can continue.”

SCHAEFFLER has been the sponsor of our team for half a decade now, and the cooperation continues. “The circle of supporters of the team has forged into a very good community, which fortunately is growing every year – said Péter Szabó, managing director of SCHAEFFLER Debrecen. – Supporters not only help the team with sponsorship, but also often accompany the girls as fans. Now they put themselves out there even after the start of the BL, thereby helping the team’s performance in the most prestigious European cup series.” In closing, Péter Szabó said that SCHAEFFLER will remain the team’s eponymous sponsor for another two years.

Managing director Zsolt Ábrók spoke about the fact that the circle of supporters had expanded even before the new season. “We started something together with the mayor, we have come a long way, DVSC went from being a relegation candidate to the Champions League starter,” said Zsolt Ábrók. “The circle of supporters keeps expanding, this time five new sponsors have joined us, and ZNET Telekom has stepped forward and will be the shirt sponsor.”

DVSC Handball Kft. also pays attention to the continuous improvement of the team’s home, the Hódos Imre Rendezvénycsarnok. This summer, 20-centimeter-thick insulation was added to the outer walls, which was then coated with white plaster. In addition, they replaced the old tin cornices, repainted the iron structures and replaced the worn outdoor false ceiling. The latter has energy-saving LED lighting. In order to reduce maintenance costs, two more heat pumps were put into operation, so that all additional rooms in the hall can be disconnected from district heating. Thanks to this, the facility will be even less vulnerable to changes in utility prices. Inside, we expanded and completely renovated the VIP room. This was necessary, as interest in the team’s matches increased significantly due to the participation in the Champions League.
