After the winning start in Székesfehérvár, DVSC SCHAEFFLER will make its debut in the championship on Wednesday. Newcomer Vasas will be the first guest in Hódos, and the goal is clearly to get two points.
The start is always difficult, in light of this the 31-23 away win against Alba-Fehérvár is especially valuable. The team’s defense was fine for most of the match and there were no complaints about the offensive game either. After returning home, the players had a rest on Saturday, and on Sunday afternoon, the girls had another training session. During the preparation against Vasas, on Monday afternoon, the players and members of the professional staff met with the fans as part of the PirosFehér Picnic.
“We had a good time at the picnic, we talked a lot with the fans, the girls could also experience how many people love them – said Zoltán Szilágyi, the head coach of the team. “This is important, as we are facing a very difficult season, and the September program will be particularly busy.”
Our opponent on Wednesday also started the championship with a win. The red-blues won against NEKA 27-23. The duel between the two teams has a long history, Loki and Vasas met 71 times in NB I. So far, in addition to 44 victories in Debrecen and 24 in Angyalföld, the teams shared the points three times. DVSC won the last 17 matches, the last match between the two teams was a draw in May 2004.
“We were very happy with the two points against Fehérvár, as a good start is always important,” said Alexandra Töpfner, who scored five goals against Alba. – We want to finish our first home game with the same momentum, as there can be no question that our goal is to win this time as well. The Champions League starts for us on Saturday, we host Sävehof in the opener, in light of this, we want to practice our own game on the champions, so we can best prepare for the start of the BL.”
Before the match, we will present the Jeddi Mária award for the best adult player of the past season, as well as the awards for the best youth players. This year, for the first time, the Ákos Komáromi award can also be received by a young person who was chosen by the coaches of the DVSC Handball Academy as worthy. Ádám Héjja and Krisztián Balázs Kónya will lead the DVSC SCHAEFFLER-Vasas match starting at 6 p.m. on September 6. The match will be broadcast live on MKSZ’s YouTube channel.
The U17 and U19 teams of the two teams will also meet on Wednesday. For the match, you can only enter the hall with a valid ticket. A seat ticket costs HUF 2,500, and a non-seat ticket costs HUF 1,500.
On the day of the match, the box office of the Imre Hódos Sports Hall opens at 2 p.m. Those who have not yet received their season tickets can do so or buy tickets for Saturday’s DVSC SCHAEFFLER-IK Sävehof Champions League group match.
