Hámori Koni: the return is near!

Her rehabilitation is progressing well, so Konszuéla Hámori, who suffered a cruciate ligament tear at the beginning of February, can return to the field as early as November.

The Champions League victory against Győr Audi ETO KC at the beginning of February took a heavy toll. As you can remember, DVSC SCHAEFFLER defeated the eventual winner Győr 29-28 in the penultimate group match, but the joy could not be complete because one of the season’s best players, Konszuéla Hámori, suffered a serious injury. The cross-striker’s cruciate ligament was torn, so he had to be operated on. Fortunately, the operation went well, and the subsequent rehabilitation is also progressing excellently, it is no wonder that Koni, who appears regularly in Hódos, is smiling more and more. We talked to her.

– How are you, how are your days going these days?
– I hope I’m doing well.” At least that’s what they say and I feel the same way. Anyway, I work out every day. I go running on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and I also have three gyms and three gyms a week. I can do many things even in the gym, and running and changing directions are also going well. Let’s just say it was weird at first. It was like I forgot how to do it, but then after a few repetitions the movements came back. Since the physiotherapist and the fitness coach say that I can’t have any problems, I’m not afraid, I do everything they say without fear.

– No pain at all?

– Nothing, zero. Muscle pain and fatigue are there, and often. Fortunately, my knee doesn’t hurt. Maybe at the very beginning, when we started doing new things, for example, cycling or strengthening, I still felt it, but now, since the beginning of the summer, I don’t have any pain.

– Did the injury take a toll on you mentally? Because honestly, that’s not what I see in you. Fortunately, you are as cheerful as before.

– It really didn’t hurt me that much. I agree that everything happens for a reason. I found positive things in this as well, which, let’s say, were not the surgery and the following few weeks. I was like, I definitely needed this, to relax a little in my head, or even in my body, because no matter the gym, running, and physical therapy, it’s not the same as when we train every day. So I’m fine, thanks.

– You miss the games, don’t you? It can’t be easy to look at others from the outside…

– Of course, that part is terribly difficult.” Since the season started and the stakes matches are coming, I would really like to go to the field. Especially when I see that I could even help the team, because things are not going that way.

– According to your physiotherapist, Laura Kerék, you are aiming for November, then you will be able to return to the field if everything goes well. What are your plans, can this really be November, or should we just stick with the fact that it would be nice if you could play again this year?

– November, definitely!” I would be very happy if I could really play even in November, of course I know that this is only the best case, but I would definitely like to have a few minutes of playing time this year as well.
