As we wrote earlier, the Dutch international Tamara Haggerty signed a two-year contract with Loki. The new pivot clearly feels that signing from the Danish midfield team Horsens to the NB 1 bronze medalist is a step forward.

– Why did you choose Debrecen?

– There was no question. I am really looking forward to join Debrecen next season. I am excited to meet my new teammates, the staff, fans and people in and around the club. I feel that I can take the next step in my career in Debrecen. Hungary has one of the best competitions. And that in combine with playing in Europe are my ambitions.

– What do you know about the DDVSC SCHAEFFLER?

– I have heard so many good things about the club. I am really looking forward to play in front of all the fans, and feel the big atmosphere during the games, what I have heard from. I am really exited to play in the Champions League again.

– You’ve already played in the Champions League. And now you can play in it again…

– I think playing Champions League is something special. It is exciting to meet and play against the best players on the highest level. I am looking forward to join the team after this summer and I am sure that we will make it a great season – together!

– Why did you choose the 55 number?

– When I played my first youth national team game, I got number 5 from Jokelyn Tienstra. Jokelyn was a really special person for me at the Handball Academy. She felt for me Like a second Mom at that time. Jokelyn have played handball on a highest level, and have teached us a lot about that. In 2015 she has died because of a brain tumour. So since that first game and all games after that I have always played in number 5. When I went to Germany in many clubs number 5 was always given to someone else. But because it was so special for me and really wanted a number 5 on my shirt. I took 2 times 5 (like 55) so that it was easier to always have the same number.
