The girls tried with honor, but today, especially in attacking play, they could not do enough to achieve the feat. Ferencváros led throughout and won the match.
A crowd not seen for a long time welcomed the teams. Hódos was full to overflowing. If there was a chandelier, they would have even hung on it. Everyone wanted to see DVSC SCHAEFFLER squeeze their big-name opponent, or maybe steal a point from them. The omens were favorable, as the guests were missing Lekics and Szöllősi-Zácsik due to injury, Allan Heine named only 12 outfield players for the match. On the other hand, Planéta Szimonetta recovered from her injury, so we could welcome Ferencváros with the strongest possible squad. Malestein started the game with a goal after Fradi defended a domestic attack. Then, a few minutes later, another favorable turn came, as Edwige received a red card for a slap in the face. The two teams went head-to-head until the 10th minute, at which point the score was 3:3. Then one or two technical errors slipped into Loki’s offensive game, and this was enough for the visiting team to pull away with 4 goals in a matter of seconds. Zoltán Szilágyi asked for time, but the picture of the match did not change after that. We simply couldn’t handle Fradi’s defense, and they scored easy goals one after another from the balls they got. If it was difficult for us to get to a shot, Böde-Bíró, who had an excellent day, was beyond the wits of our players. The fact that we scored only eight goals in the 30 minutes of the first half, while Fradi scored 14, says a lot about the attacking game.
The second half started with Töpfner’s two goals of the week and a guest exhibition. The defense worked and Grosch also scored, so Loki reduced its deficit in six minutes. Allan Heine asked for time. The home team remained in momentum after that, with Hámori’s goal, we went up by two. This was maintained until the tenth minute, at which time 14:16 was on the scoreboard. A little later, the referees stopped the match because the away fans threw beer on Catherine Gabriel, who was defending in the goal below them. The forced rest shocked the home team even more, Fradi pulled away again with 5 goals. In the middle of the half, it was 14:19 on the scoreboard. Thus, the last quarter of an hour was again about DVSC SCHAEFFLER trying to catch up. However, in addition to the opponent’s good play, this was also not possible due to our own mistakes. There were one or two inexplicably lost balls, some bad decisions, and this was more than enough for Ferencváros to keep the lead. In terms of the number of goals scored, DVSC SCHAEFFLER set a negative season record with 21 goals.

Coaches speach:
Zoltán Szilágyi: Congratulations to Ferencváros, the visiting team deservedly won. We played with little faith, we only dared to do what we know when it didn’t matter, at the end. Our offensive game in the first half was below criticism, the second half started better, but when we got close to Fradi, the incomprehensible mistakes and bad decisions came again and the game went away. We are working to improve this.
Allan Heine: It was a great struggle. We expected to play a Champions League-level game here, and that’s what happened. It was a physically demanding match. After the red card we received in the first 5 minutes, we got into a bit of trouble, but we managed to sort out the lines quickly. I am very proud of my players who gave an incredible performance.
