French olympic champion back signed

In the person of Océane Sercien-Ugolin, DVSC SCHAEFFLER confirmed an international class right winger. Océane will arrive from Champions League winners Vipers Kristiansand in the summer of 2024. Her contract runs for two years, until 2026.

Oceane Sercien-Ugolin first signed a professional contract with Paris 92 in 2016, with which she already played in the French Cup final in 2017. In the championship, the team from Paris finished on the podium, so it could continuously participate in international cups as well. In 2020, she signed for the Slovenian champion and Champions League participant RK Krim. In her first season, she was the second top scorer of the team, scoring 65 goals in the Champions League. In 2022, she signed a contract with Vipers Kristiansand, with whom she won the European Championship in her first year there.
She was constantly a member of the French youth national teams. She became Olympic champion with the adult national team in 2020. Two-time Slovenian champion, Norwegian champion and cup winner. The French classic happily told our website.

– The request came at the best time. I wanted to change anyway, I wanted to join a team where I could constantly get opportunities to play and thus continue to develop. I really liked what I read about Debrecen and what I saw at their matches. It has young, talented players who are agile and ambitious, and it is no coincidence that they also play well in the Champions League. The club is constantly developing year after year and has serious goals in Europe. It is important for me to be on the field as much as possible and I really like challenges, and that will be in Debrecen.

– We have a French goalkeeper, Catherine Gabriel. Maybe you asked for her opinion before making your decision?

– Of course, I know Cathy very well, as I played with her in the French national team. I thoroughly asked about the team, the city, the possibilities, the feeling of life in Debrecen, everything. She said a lot of good things, so the decision was made even easier.

– How much did it matter in your decision that DVSC SCHAEFFLER became a Champions League team?

– Obviously, it played a role, since with this year’s Champions League appearance, the club has already gained a serious reputation on the international stage. I would be very happy if we stayed in the BL next year, but it’s not a big deal if it doesn’t work out. I want to help the team to be even better. I would like DVSC SCHAEFFLER to be one of the best teams in Europe within a few years and I would like to be a part of this story.

– As I know you are currently injured? How are you? Do you have a chance to play in the World Cup?

– For now, I am concentrating on rehabilitation so that I can return to the field in perfect condition. Of course, I really want to be there with the national team at the final, but the most important thing right now is that my injury is fully healed. I will be watching the World Cup on TV and will be rooting for the French national team and my future teammates.
