DVSC SCHAEFFLER, playing well below its real ability, lost by three goals at the home of reserve team Mosonmagyaróvár, so it was forced to say goodbye to the Hungarian Cup.

The home team still led by one goal, but we quickly turned things around with Petra Füzi-Tóvizi’s double, and Thorleifsdóttir’s goal made it 3-1. But we couldn’t pull away, because at the beginning of the eighth minute, the Swedish striker was sent off, and a little later, Petra Füzi-Tóvizi, so Mosonmagyaróvár first equalized and then turned the score around. Taking advantage of the double man disadvantage, the home team pulled away with two goals. Then Zoltán Szilágyi asked for time. Nevertheless, MKC increased the difference to three goals. Weak defense, a lot of bad decisions, technical errors and missed shots characterized our game in the first quarter of an hour, and we also had three exhibitions, which is why the result could have turned out the way it did. DVSC SCHAEFFLER struggled, it took more than eight minutes to equalize and then another five to take the lead again. The score was 15:16 at the break. The first half was much tighter than expected.
A második játékrészt úgy kezdte a debreceni csapat, ahogy illik egy Magyar Kupa negyeddöntőben. Kicsivel több mint egy perc alatt háromgólosra növeltük a különbséget. Egy újabb kettős emberelőnyt kihasználva azonban megint felzárkózott az óvár, sőt a 42-ik percben ki is egyenlített. Szilágyi Zoltán ezt követően kikérte második idejét is. A helyzet ettől sem lett jobb. Ismét az első félidei indiszponált játékát mutatta a csapat, rengeteg hibával elől és hátul is. A 49-ik perc elején az MKC átvette a vezetést, a DVSC SCHAEFFLER pedig komoly gödörbe zuhant. Az 53-ik percben már öt kihagyott hetesnél tartottunk úgy, hogy Töpfner, Sercien-Ugolin és Csernyánszki után Hámori is próbálkozott büntetőből. A Mosonmagyaróvár eksztázisban játszott, a mieink pedig mélyen a tudásuk alatt, így aztán a meccs hajrájában a hazai csapat még növelte is előnyét és végül három góllal nyert. Nagyon sok a harminc gól, amit kaptunk, emellett tíz ziccert és öt büntetőt hagytunk ki, ez nem fér bele még egy tartalékos rivális ellen sem! Dicstelenül búcsúztunk a Magyar Kupától.

Ákos Vers: We weren’t the best, but the girls fought with heart and soul and gave everything they had. We tried to channel the match in such a way that we had a chance to play a one-and-one match until the end. The decisive factor was that Debrecen could not break away at the beginning of the second half. Zoltán Szilágyi: I can only congratulate Mosonmagyaróvár. With this frame, with which they stood out, they mentally grew towards us and played great. We hardly had moments to appreciate, the team was convulsive. Until we can change this, we cannot move forward.
