Easy victory in the eastern derby

Great defense, extra goalkeeper performace, sometimes witty attacking play: all of this together resulted in a resounding success against the ancient rival Békéscsaba.

The first few minutes were rushed, there were a lot of mistakes on both sides. Debrecen calmed down earlier and the difference quickly increased under the leadership of Petra Vámos, who played with great enthusiasm. The guests quickly asked for time, but that didn’t help either, with Tamara Haggerty’s goal in the 20th minute making it 14-6. At the end of the first half, there was a bit of ups and downs, the visiting team made use of the disadvantage.

In the continuation, Petra Vámos took control of things again, Mariana Costa also caught the thread, and in the 51st minute, the Brazilian national team scored a ten-goal difference (30-20). The concentration did not decrease in the first half, and in the last minute there was reason to be happy, our academician, Nóra Nagy, scored her first goal in NB I.

Coaches:
Rác Sándor: We expected such a match. We have several injured players, we are in a difficult situation, and Debrecen has shown that they are one of the best teams in Hungary. We wanted to play a better game, but DVSC played very well and fast, we didn’t have much to do with them. I congratulate the opponent on the victory.

Szilágyi Zoltán: We started the match well, we played at the speed that suits us. We also had a good goalkeeping performance, so we played well at the beginning, but maybe we let it go a little, aware of our big advantage, which is why the opponent was able to catch up in one period. Then we arranged the lines and in the end we won confidently. I’m glad I was able to give every player a chance.
