Good defense and goalkeeping performance, as well as excellent wing play, were enough for only a draw in the opening match of the DVSC SCHAEFFLER Cup, against Gloria Bistrita.

In the rematch of the final of the preparatory tournament in Beszterce, we had the advantage in the first ten minutes, then after 4-3 we couldn’t find the way to the goal, the guests scored three goals in a row and reversed. Bistrita’s advantage lasted until the last minute of the half, when Tamara Haggerty’s goal caught up with our opponent, but with the unstoppable Tamires Araujo’s goal, Gloria was able to go to rest with an advantage.

In the second half, Mariana Costa, returning after a serious injury, entered the field and soon scored her first goal after facial surgery. The Romanians trailed by three goals, but with the goals of Costa, Liliána Csernyanszki and Petrus Mirtill, as well as the saves of Catherine Gabriel, we first overtook our opponent and then reversed (22-20). We always led in the second half, but the team from Besterce always equalized, so the end was 25-25.
