Gloria Bistrita, who played well, won the Erdély Kapuja Cup final 31-22 against DVSC SCHAEFFLER. Our team made a lot of mistakes and played weak handball.
After Friday’s winning semi-final, Zoltán Szilágyi led the team’s training on Saturday morning, Sunday was already spent in the final against Gloria Bistrita, after breakfast the players took a walk in downtown Beszterce, then after a short video analysis, lunch and rest, the girls left for the TeraPlast Arena.
The bronze match of the tournament was won by Buzau against Besnacon from France, and the hall capable of accommodating three and a half thousand spectators was almost full for the final. We started the match badly, there was a lot of uncertainty in attack, and space for the opponent in defense, so with the goals of Dinca and De Araujo, Bistrita quickly went away. In the continuation, the situation did not improve either, when we had the opportunity to shut down, then we got one penalties after another and spent almost half of the playing time with a disadvantage.
The feats of Brazilian goalkeeper Renata de Arruda also worsened our situation, so after thirty minutes of play, the home team was ahead with seven goals. Even after the break, the picture of the match did not change much, it seemed that we could not find the rhythm of the match. Our jumpers missed in a row, and the opponent scored easy goals, while we could not score even with a double man advantage. In the 36th minute, the difference increased to ten goals (20-10), at least then we managed to catch the thread somewhat. Jovana Jovovics and Petra Füzi-Tóvizi often found the gap in the home wall, so at least the difference was consolidated.
The result was a nine-goal defeat, and for us it can be seen as positive that Jovi, returning after a long injury and seven-month absence, picked up the thread again.
