DVSC SCHAEFFLER played sensational handball for 35 minutes, but in the following minutes they could no longer keep up with the CL winner, who had moved up a gear.
DVSC SCHAEFFLER started with great momentum and was in the lead at the beginning of the match, which Zoltán Szilágyi invented. Our passers either aimed well or found Tamara Haggerty with their passes, who made no mistakes. After a good ten minutes, they were already four goals ahead. We were constantly leading, and then when we could have increased our lead to three goals with a run-in, Sercien-Ugolin shot Sak in the head. The penalty came, which understandably caught our team off guard, and Győr took advantage of the opportunity. The visiting team took the lead for the first time in the 12th minute and quickly pulled three points ahead. After Zoltán Szilágyi called a timeout, we started to close the gap. We equalized in the 20th minute with Thorleifsdottir’s ten-meter bomb. In fact, we had the lead again in the 22nd minute, following Töpfner’s seven. In fact, in fact, in fact, we were able to increase the lead in the continuation. With Csernyánszki’s empty-net goal at the beginning of the 28th minute, we led by four goals and this remained at the break. DVSC SCHAEFFLER played the best first half of the season, and the CL winner seemed completely at a loss.
At the beginning of the second half, we managed to increase the lead to five, but then the machine stalled. The Győr team visibly reorganized their lines during the break, especially the defense around the linebacker, so we couldn’t really operate there anymore. In addition, there were a couple of technical errors, so the visiting team caught up in a matter of moments. In the 41st minute, the score was equal again, and a minute later Győr was already leading. During this period, our game seemed slow and cumbersome, and the greens were getting more and more into it. Within a few minutes, the difference grew to five, then six goals, and from there there was no going back. We couldn’t keep up with the speed of the visiting team in the rush, the errors came one after another from both the front and the back, so in the end, Győr won easily.

MASTER’S BALANCE:
Zoltán Szilágyi: We started great, we played with a good attitude, we performed fantastically until the thirty-fifth minute. But then we got mentally tired, we made a lot of mistakes, and Győr made extra time and took the lead. No matter what we tried, nothing worked. Overall, there were no surprises, the better team won, I hope we can continue to play at this level for a longer period of time.
Per Johansson: It was a real honor to play in such a heated match. The home team started very strongly, I think they played the best first half of the season. We had big problems with their line-ups and Thorleifsdottír’s cross-shots, our defense didn’t work very well. The break often comes in handy in handball, and this was the case this time too. We realized that we didn’t manage to play what we know how to in any element of the game, so we have to change everything. The game changed in the second half, we produced a quarter of an hour that I had never seen from my team before, and that was enough to win.
