Continue the CL adventure in Germany

On Sunday, at 2 p.m., DVSC SCHAEFFLER will play as a guest of German champion SG BBM Bietigheim in the 12th round of Group A of the Champions League. The match will be broadcast live on the Sport1 channel.

The players of DVSC SCHAEFFLER did regeneration work the day after Wednesday’s Hungarian Cup promotion against Dunaújváros, and then on Friday and Saturday morning the team practiced in Hódos before Sunday’s Champions League group match in Germany. It is definitely good news that, despite the forced march in January (the Debrecen team played eight games in the first month of the year), everyone is healthy, so Loki can travel with the strongest squad on Saturday morning. In the September match between the two teams in Debrecen, the German champion won 36-26, which then played with two Hungarian handball players, Dorottya Faluvégi and Melinda Szikora. Since then, in the person of Noémi Háfra, another Hungarian has signed a contract with Bietigheim, but cannot be on the field in Ludwigsburg on Sunday. Háfra was already in the group stage as a Buducsnoszt player, so they can only count on him in the straight elimination stage, Melinda Szikora is recovering from a knee injury and Dorottya Faluvégi is not completely healthy. The defending champion and current leader of the Bundesliga also played on Wednesday, as did DVSC SCHAEFFLER, who tuned in to the CL meeting with a 13-goal victory, winning 35-22 at Solingen’s home.

“We have had a serious load in recent weeks, but we are trying to make good use of the rest days, so I hope there will be no problem with our freshness on Sunday,” said our left winger, Mirtill Petrus, before the start. – Bietigheim is a good team, they proved this in the autumn in Debrecen. The players of the German champions match each other very well, we tried to prepare for these situations as much as possible!”

The match between SG BBM Bietigheim and DVSC SCHAEFFLER starts at 14:00 on Sunday, February 4, in the MHP Arena in Ludwigsburg. Two referees from North Macedonia, Marija Ilijeva and Szilvana Karbeszka, will blow the whistle, and the EHF inspector will be the Finnish Fredrik Udd. The match will be broadcast live on the Sport1 channel.
