Confident win against Switzerland

At the end of the first half, the Hungarian women’s handball team led by only two goals, but in the second half, they switched to a higher gear and finally defeated Switzerland in the EHF EURO Cup match.

This year, the Hungarian women’s handball team took on the field for the first time, welcoming Switzerland in the third round of the EHF EURO Cup in Tatabány. After two matches, we had two points, we suffered a seven-goal defeat against Norway in Debrecen, and then we defeated Austria away from home. The match started with a goal by Petra Vámos, we led 3-1 at the beginning of the fifth minute, but in the seventh minute the score was tied. The Hungarian team changed its rhythm, Vámos distributed well in this period, we already led 9-4 at halftime. Then the guests showed that the good results of the past period did not come about by chance. Thanks to the saves of their goalkeeper, Dokovic, who was excellent, they closed to two goals at the end of the half. After the more restrained play of the first thirty minutes, the Hungarian team made its intentions clear at the beginning of the second half, which increased its advantage with four more goals in seven minutes. The real “attack” came after 26-19, immediately with Füzi-Tóvizi minutes, we were able to score a goal scored from a rampart, an empty goalie, and then a run down, so that in the 51st minute we were already leading 34-20. The difference did not increase in the first half, and the guests even scored another goal, we won 38-26 in the third round of the EURO Cup. On Saturday, the sides will clash again in Switzerland, the goal of Vladimir Golovin’s team will be to win in Üblingen as well.
