Catherine Gabriel: we must get in our best form!

After the success against Buducsnoszt, DVSC SCHAEFFLER’s team is waiting for another domestic BL match. On Saturday at 4:00 p.m., the French Brest Bretagne Handball will be the opponent in Hódos.

DVSC-MTK

The program is busy, there is no stopping for the girls. Last Saturday, Loki defeated the two-time CL winner Montenegrin champion at home, and on Wednesday, the championship game against MTK followed, and this time the opponent will be Brest Bretagne Handball.

The good news is that Míra Vámos and Tamara Haggerty, who missed Wednesday’s match due to a minor illness, have recovered and will take on the game, so only Mariana Costa, who participated in the Pan American Games, will be missing from the squad that played in the last BL match.

The silver medalist of the French championship, like us, has so far scored four points in Group A of the Champions League, and he can be upset mainly because of the two one-goal defeats. The sadness caused by the two narrow defeats was solved by the success of the French club last week, as they beat CSM Bucharest away.

“Brest is a very good team and they will probably come to us with a lot of confidence, since they won in Bucharest last week,” said our French goalkeeper, Catherine Gabriel, who knows the opponent very well. – We want to play a close match, and if necessary, cause a surprise, but for that we have to play handball bravely, we have to be in our best form! Their defender, Pauletta Foppa, and their left-handed crosser, the Russian Valeriya Maslova, are also classy players, and you should pay special attention to them! We have to focus a lot on defense, this will be the most important thing in the match. If this goes well, then we will be able to score quick goals from the run, which is one of our most important weapons. In addition, the number of technical errors must be reduced to a minimum, because in the Champions League, the opponent takes advantage of every error and is likely to score a goal from it.”

The DVSC SCHAEFFLER-Brest Bretagne Handball Champions League group match starting on Saturday, October 28 at 4 p.m. will be led by two Moldovan referees, Igor Kovalchuk and Alexey Kovalchuk. The EHF inspector of the match will be the Croatian Vladimir Sokol.

The match will be broadcast live by Sport1 TV. Seat tickets for the match cost HUF 5,000, and non-seat tickets cost HUF 3,500. Before the meeting, the box office of the Imre Hódos Rendezvénycsarnok opens at 2 p.m.
