In the 55th minute, we were still in the lead at the Audi Arena, but we still failed to achieve the feat, even though we were really very close to it. Despite the defeat, we can be proud of the DVSC SCHAEFFLER team.
We started the derby with a good defense with the saves of Catherine Gabriel and the goals of the heavy bomber Gréta Kácsor. In the 12th minute, Gréti’s fourth goal gave us a 5-4 lead. A little later, with Loki leading 7-5, Ulrik Kirkely asked for time for the first time, ETO equalized, and then Zoltán Szilágyi called for time. In the hectic pace of the first half, we finally equalized with a goal from Konszuéla Hámori.
We had a great start to the second half as well, our defense was still tight and Cathy continued where she left off. In the 36th minute, Győr still led 13-12, but in the continuation, those who watched the match could see an unbelieveable period. The girls from Debrecen, who fought hard, took back the lead, then pulled away from the hosts, leading with three goals. In the 50th minute, the score was still 18-21, but unfortunately we were both mentally and physically tired.
