Budaörs held their own in the first half and in the next, thanks to the improved defense of Debrecen and the excellent goalkeeping performance, the fate of the two points was quickly decided.
We saw a strange first half in Budaörs. We started well, then the hosts turned the game around for a short circuit, but we quickly took the lead back and went to rest with a one-goal lead. There were no problems with our offensive game in this period either, but seeing our defense – especially the neutralization of the linebackers – there was a reason for us to feel lacking. During the break, intentionally or unintentionally, the game played here last season flashed on, when the two-goal lead at halftime turned into a two-goal deficit at the end.
By the time we could start thinking more seriously about the past, Gréti Kácsor scored two beautiful goals, and Tamara Haggerty’s goal gave us a four-point lead. Zoltán Szilágyi: – There was a problem with our defense at the beginning of the match, mainly we couldn’t solve Budaörs’ set-up game, but during the break we rearranged our defense a bit and started very well at the beginning of the second half. At one time, the opponent’s seven-on-six game also caused problems, but by setting up our tall men, we were able to filter through shots and penetrations, and we also scored balls from them. The fate of the two points was decided at the beginning of the second half. I’m glad for him that we produced a dynamic, good game from time to time.
