The contract of the Dutch national team full-back confirmed to replace the injured Kata Juhász expires in the summer, so she will leave Debrecen.
Tamara Haggerty came to our team in the summer of 2023 to replace Kata Juhász, who suffered a torn cruciate ligament. DVSC SCHAEFFLER concluded a two-year contract with her. Then we were looking for a complex player who could help the team not only in attack, but also in defense, and also in the third position. In retrospect, it turned out that Tami was a good choice, as she was able to help our team both on the domestic stage and in the Champions League. Thanks to her performance in Debrecen, she became a stable member of the Dutch national team. She has played 64 matches in DVSC SCHAEFFLER’s jersey and scored 64 goals in them. Her individual goalscoring record is 4, and she scored the same number of times in the domestic championships against Kisvárda and Fehérvár last year. Tamara Haggerty’s contract expires on June 30. Since Kata Juhász is healthy again, the Dutch defender will leave in the summer.
“I am grateful for these two years, as it is an honor to play in this team. From the first moment, I feel very good in Debrecen and have been enriched with many beautiful memories. Our first season was especially memorable with our participation in the Champions League. The matches against star teams and the feats we achieved are unforgettable. I really like the atmosphere of our home games, it’s always an experience to play in front of so many fans. In sports, you never know what awaits you, now life has brought me such a way that I have to change. I myself am looking forward to what new challenges I will have to face from the summer, but until then I still have plenty to do in Debrecen. I would like to say goodbye at the end of the season with a nice result and maybe we will meet again in the future.”
