DVSC SCHAEFFLER, playing far below its real skills, lost by three goals at the home of reserve team Mosonmagyaróvár, so it was forced to say goodbye to the Hungarian Cup.
The home team still led by one goal, but Petra Füzi-Tóvizi’s double quickly turned things around, and Thorleifsdóttir’s goal made it 3-1. But we couldn’t pull away, because at the beginning of the eighth minute, the Swedish back was sent off, and a little later Petra Füzi-Tóvizi too, so Mosonmagyaróvár first equalized and then turned the score around. Taking advantage of the double man disadvantage, the home team pulled away with two goals. Then Zoltán Szilágyi asked for time. Nevertheless, MKC increased the difference to three goals. Weak defense, a lot of bad decisions, technical errors and missed shots characterized our game in the first quarter of an hour, and we also had three exhibitions, which is why the result could have turned out the way it did. DVSC SCHAEFFLER struggled, it took more than eight minutes to equalize and then another five to take the lead again. The score was 15:16 at the break. The first half was much tighter than expected.
The team from Debrecen started the second half as befits a Hungarian Cup quarterfinal. We increased the difference to three goals in a little over a minute. Taking advantage of another double man advantage, however, the MKC caught up again and even equalized in the 42nd minute. After that, Zoltán Szilágyi asked for a second term. The situation didn’t get any better. Again, the team showed the indisciplined game of the first half, with a lot of mistakes both in front and behind. At the beginning of the 49th minute, MKC took the lead, and DVSC SCHAEFFLER fell into a serious hole. In the 53rd minute, we already had five missed sevens, as Hámori also tried from the penalty spot after Töpfner, Sercien-Ugolin and Csernyanszki. Mosonmagyaróvár played in ecstasy, and our team was far below their ability, so in the beginning of the match the home team even increased their advantage and finally won with three goals. The thirty goals we conceded are a lot, and we also missed ten kicks and five penalties, which is not enough even against a reserve rival! We had an inglorious farewell to the Hungarian Cup.

Coaches’ speeches:
Ákos Vers: We weren’t the best, but the girls fought with heart and soul, they gave their all. We tried to channel the match in such a way that we had a chance to play a one-and-one match until the end. The decisive factor was that Debrecen could not break away at the beginning of the second half.
Zoltán Szilágyi: I can only congratulate Mosonmagyaróvár. With this frame, with which they stood out, they mentally grew towards us and played great. We hardly had moments to appreciate, the team was convulsive. Until we can change this, we cannot move forward.
