The European Handball Federation (EHF) has published the list of candidates for the 2024 EHF Excellence Awards. Alexandra Töpfner was also selected as one of the seven best in the right wing position.

110 women’s and men’s handball players from 21 nations have been nominated by the European Handball Federation for the title of “Player of the Year” based on their performance in the season with the national team and their club. The EHF nominated seven players for each position, including Alexandra Töpfner, which can also be interpreted as Szasza currently being one of the seven best handball players in Europe.

Players, coaches, journalists and fans can participate in the voting. The votes of each group account for a quarter of the total result for each post.
The winners of the categories – including the Team of the Year – will be announced by the EHF at the draw for the 2024-2025 Champions League season on June 27, and later the Player of the Year will be chosen from among them, who will be chosen by the EHF on December 14, 2024 The European association is nominated at the Excellence Awards gala in Vienna.
