19 teams have registered with the EHF for the 2024/25 Champions League season. Nine clubs are guaranteed participants, and 10 teams – including DVSC SCHAEFFLER – applied for the remaining seven places. Decision on June 21.

At noon today, the EHF published on its official website the list of teams applying for the next season for the Champions League. According to the announcement, nine teams have a guaranteed place: Team Esbjerg (Denmark), Nykøbing Falster Håndboldklub (Denmark), Metz Handball (France), HB Ludwigsburg (formerly SG BBM Bietigheim, Germany), FTC-Rail Cargo Hungária, Buducnost Bemax (Montenegro), Vipers Kristiansand (Norway), CSM Bucuresti (Romania), Krim Mercator Ljubljana (Slovenia).
10 teams applied for the remaining seven group stage places. They are: HC Podravka Vegeta (Croatian), Odense Håndbold (Danish), Brest Bretagne Handball (French), BV Borussia Dortmund (German), Győri Audi ETO KC, DVSC Schaeffler, Storhamar Handball Elite (Norwegian), Sola HK (Norwegian), CS Rapid Bucuresti (Romanian), CS Gloria 2018 BN (Romanian).
Considering the practice of recent years, it is difficult to imagine that among the latter teams, Brest, Rapid Bucharest, Odense (as the third Dane), as well as Champions League winner Győr and Europa League winner Storhamar would not be in the field.
If we start from this, five teams, DVSC SCHAEFFLER, Podravka, Dortmund, Sola and CS Gloria, will compete for one of the two remaining places.
The applications will be evaluated in the first round on Wednesday, June 19, and the final decision will be made by the EHF Executive Committee on Friday, June 21. The draw for the group stage will be held on June 27 in Vienna.
