Won’t be easy, but we must win

On Saturday, earlier than usual, at 4:30 p.m., DVSC SCHAEFFLER will play at the home of MTK-Budapest. In recent years, we have played an extremely intense match away from home against the blue and whites, and we cannot expect an easy match this time either.

To recall what happened in the last season’s MTK-Loki match in Budapest, even though we had a seemingly reassuring advantage in the middle of the second half, the blue and whites equalized and in the end we were only able to get the two points with Petra Vámos’ last-second goal.
Since then, we won the bronze medal of the Hungarian Cup in Tatabánya in April last year, and the championship in Hódos in October, but on Saturday we will definitely have to work hard for success.  MTK-Budapest had a bad start to the 2023/24 season, but the team found the right path by spring. Attila Vágó’s students won five of their last seven matches, losing only to Fradi and Győr.
The players of DVSC SCHAEFFLER regenerated on Monday after Sunday’s winning rally, and then on Tuesday the preparations for Saturday’s championship began.
“We are aware that we really need the points to get the third place – said Gréta Kácsor, who scored four goals against Mosonmagyaróvár. – If our defense is steely and we can score rush goals, then we can have an easier time. But for that you have to play handball very concentrated, because MTK represents good playing power, and has been playing handball in good form in the last period.”
Miklós Andorka and Róbert Hucker will lead the MTK-Budapest-DVSC SCHAEFFLER match at the Riz Levente Sports and Events Center (Budapest, Pesti út 88.) on Saturday, April 27 at 3:30 p.m.
The match will be broadcast live on mkszkezilabda YouTube channel.
