Paris, we are coming!

Although a four-goal defeat would have been sure of the Hungarian national team’s Olympic qualification, the girls did not leave it to chance. They defeated Japan smoothly so they made it to Paris as group leaders.

Full house in the Főnix Arena, three DVSC SCHAEFFLER players (Petra Füzi-Tóvizi, Gréta Kácsor and Petra Vámos) in the match against Japan. The formula is simple: Hungary is an Olympic participant if it wins, draws or does not concede by more than four goals. The girls did not count on the latter option, as after a stuttering start they quickly calmed down and gradually built up their advantage. They led 5-3 after ten minutes and 8-4 after a quarter of an hour. The Asian team tried everything, experimented with the seven-on-six game, among other things – with little success. After only thirty minutes of play, it was clear that the Hungarian national team would be there at the Paris Olympics!
In the continuation, the Hungarian team increased its advantage for a while, then the unofficial celebration started ten minutes before the end of the match, so the enthusiastic Asians made up for their disadvantage, but nobody was interested anymore. The Hungarian women’s handball team will also be there at the 2024 Olympics!
