Six players of DVSC SCHAEFFLER’s adult squad are away from Debrecen due to national team obligations. Serious tasks await Petra Füzi-Tóvizi, Gréta Kácsor, Petra Vámos, Liliána Csernyánszki, Jovana Jovovics and Tamara Haggerty.

Three of them (Petra Füzi-Tóvizi, Gréta Kácsor and Petra Vámos) are preparing with the Hungarian senior national team for the last two rounds of the EHF European Cup, and then for next week’s Olympic qualifier in Debrecen. Vladimir Golovin’s team will play against Norway in Ulset tonight at 19:15, and then on Saturday, at 17:00 in Győr, they will conclude the “qualifying substitute” tournament created for the three European Championship co-organizers (Hungary, Austria, Switzerland) and defending champion Norway. Then, from next Thursday to Sunday, the team will fight for Olympic participation in the Főnix Arena.
The Serbian national team, with Jovovic and Jovana, already played their penultimate continental championship qualification match on Wednesday, winning 35-17 against Bulgaria, away from home. In the match held in Sumen, Jovi, who was recovering from a minor knee injury, played little role. The Serbian national team can qualify for the European Championships on Sunday at home in Zrenjanin, the Serbians must score at least one point in the match between the two five-point teams.
Tamara Haggerty and the Dutch national team are already certain Euro participants, so for them the last two rounds of the qualifiers are just a formality. Netherlands will play tonight in Portugal, and on Sunday they will close the qualification series at home against Finland, but the real goal for them is next week’s Olympic qualifiers, where they will fight against the Czech Republic, Argentina and Spain for the plane ticket to Paris.
Our junior national team is preparing in Balatonboglár this week, Liliána Csernyánszki and our academy goalkeeper Réka Lakatos are in the squad, and the team is being prepared by Zoltán Szilágyi and Kitti Kudor. The Hungarian youngsters will play a preparatory match against Romania this afternoon and Spain on Saturday.
