DVSC SCHAEFFLER gradually improved their game and confidently won the bronze medal overall, so they won a medal again in the Hungarian Cup.
The clear goal of DVSC SCHAEFFLER was to return home with a medal from the final four this year after last year, while Mosonmagyaróvár drove to the first podium finish in the history of the Hungarian Cup in the bronze match of the Hungarian Cup. The girls from Debrecen were very disappointed after the semi-final against Győr, as there was very little left for them to overcome the big-name opponent and reach the final. So it wasn’t easy to get up to speed again for the bronze medal match, and it only became clear that morning that Petrus Mirtill was sick and had a fever, so he couldn’t take part in the game.
Kácsor started the match with a bomb. DVSC SCHAEFFLER scored right from their first attack. Móvár responded immediately with Eszter Tóth’s seventh goal. Throughout the first quarter of an hour, MKC, who played more accurately, led with one or two goals, while Loki tried to hold back. It is interesting that Anna Albek collected two points in nine minutes, Petra Vámos beat her on both occasions, so in the continuation, János Gyurka only expected her to attack. The difference increased to three for the first time in the 15th minute, when Zoltán Szilágyi immediately asked for time. However, the image of the game did not change much after that either. The defense was not nearly as effective as against Győr, and the team played slowly and clumsily in attack. So Zoltán Szilágyi asked for time again, barely three minutes later! At that time there were four of them. At the beginning of the half, Loki again used the seven-on-six attack that worked well against ETO and switched to an open defense, as Debrecen already led by one goal at the break (16:15).
The second half also started with a goal from Debrecen. Alexandra Töpfner also scored the fourth seven-pointer, so Loki led by two for the first time. In fact, after barely three minutes of play, the advantage was already four. In this period, the main character was Nina Szabó, who was effective both as a manager and as a right-footer, and with big goals and good tackles, she once again proved that it was a good decision to “call her home”. But anyway, DVSC SCHAEFFLER was much more accurate and organized than in the first half, so it was able to maintain a stable 3-4 goal advantage. By the middle of the half, the defense was very organized and Gabrijela Bartulovis also performed feats in the goal, so Loki was constantly separated from its opponent. In the 16th minute, the advantage was seven goals, while Bartulovic was making his 13th save, with an indicator above 50%. Although Mosonmagyaróvár was able to reduce its deficit in the continuation, the victory in Debrecen was not in danger. DVSC SCHAEFFLER fully deserved and confidently defeated its opponent, so after the last year, it won a bronze medal in the Hungarian Cup this year as well.

MASTER SCALE:
Zoltán Szilágyi: I am very happy about this success. After the matches of the last period, we clearly proved, primarily to ourselves, that this is our place, at this level. We already played a very good match against Győr, but we didn’t win there, even though we didn’t lack much. Great praise goes to the girls for being able to stand up after the disappointment. Our open defense was the key to success, the effective defense gave us such momentum and confidence that the goalkeeping feats came from and we were also able to be effective in attack. I am very proud of the team.
János Gyurka: For us, this was a match similar to the final, where we have to play differently. A wonderful start is not enough, you need more than that, you have to spin for sixty minutes. I saw that our game stalled and we couldn’t recover from our mistakes. Debrecen’s five-on-one game caught us off guard, we became insecure and mentally could not process what happened on the pitch. We must be able to bear such a burden, only then will we be able to move forward.
