Ajano responded to Konszuéla Hámori’s goal, and then four consecutive goals from Debrecen followed. The home team was able to organize their lines, so the difference did not increase further during the period, which was dotted with numerous suspensions.
In the 16th minute, after 381 days of forced rest, injury, surgery and long rehabilitation, Dóra Hornyák was able to take the field again. Our team captain was greeted with a standing ovation by the half a hundred Debrecen fans accompanying the team. Perhaps Dodó’s return also contributed to the fact that our defense came together at the beginning of the half, thanks to which we played handball with confidence. Vámos Petra’s bomb ended the first thirty minutes, so we went to rest with a seven-goal lead.
In the continuation, Loki’s rear formation became even more determined, Gabrijela Bartulovic also caught the thread, so we only conceded three goals in 17 minutes, and since we scored ten in the meantime, the difference grew to a gap. Grosch Vivi was very much in her element, Koni proved to be unstoppable, we scored easy goals one after another. Our 18-year-old academician, Lili Csamangó, also got the chance to play, and in fact… Nine seconds before the end, Zoltán Szilágyi asked for time, and at the end of the perfectly executed move, the debuting teenager scored the last goal of the match and of the year 2023!
And the way the teammates celebrated the rookie’s goal tells a lot about the team! After the match, the fans who accompanied DVSC SCHAEFFLER to Kisvárda treated the players with personalized gifts, and of course the year-end toast was not left out either.
