National team: two-goal defeat in the Netherlands

Four DVSC SCHAEFFLER players played in the Dutch-Hungarian World Cup preparation match in Rotterdam, and among them Tamara Haggerty was in the winning team, as the hosts won 25-23.

If we start from the fact that we played away from home against the 2019 world champions, and ten of the squad that won gold in Japan were also on the field in Rotterdam, the defeat is certainly fair. In addition, we were missing the most successful national team player of recent years, Katrin Klujber. Tamara Haggerty, “the babyface killer” was among the starters in the Dutch team, and Petra Vámos was among the starters among Loki’s handball players. The first half was clearly about the goalkeepers, Böde-Bíró-Blanka defended in an inspired form, unfortunately, our BL group opponent, Odense’s goalkeeper, Yara Ten Holte, was even more effective than her. In the not very high-quality match, the Hungarian national team played with many mistakes, in which all three members of the Debrecen squad (Petra Füzi-Tóvizi, Alexandra Töpfner and Petra Vámos) scored a goal. However, the fighting spirit is certainly commendable, as is the extra defense of Petra Füzi-Tóvizi. Tamara Haggerty did not score for the winning home side The two teams will meet again on Sunday in Almelo.
