During the Champions League match against the German champion Bietigheim, we will inaugurate the wall of glory made in honor of the club’s immortals, and we will salute the legends. Another reason why you should visit the hall on Sunday afternoon!
“Immortals of the DVSC Handball Family”. This inscription can be read on the club’s wall of glory, which can be viewed in the corridor of the Hódos Imre Rendezvénycsarnok facing Baksay Street, behind the B-sector. The most successful teams and the players, coaches and people close to the club who did the most for the DVSC Handball Family were placed on it.
The coaches include, of course, the coach of the 1955 championship team, Ferenc Bokor, but also the Komáromi couple, who led the championship team in 1987 and multiple Hungarian Cup winners, as well as the EHF Cup specialist Vilmos Köstner.
Among the 12 selected players are the names of Erika Csapó and Mária Jeddi, who won everything with the club, but for example Anna Szántó, Katalin Szilágyi, Gabriella Szűcs, Tünde Nyilas and our regular supporter Gábor Komáromi, who died in a tragic accident, were also included on the wall of immortals.
Those who want to see not only the names, but also the legendary players themselves, should arrive on time for Sunday’s match! From 1:15 p.m., we will inaugurate the wall of fame with the “immortals”, where fans will have the opportunity to meet and talk with our former players. And during the break of the match, as part of a small ceremony, we will hand over a commemorative plaque with the inscription “Immortal of the DVSC Handball Family” to all the players who appeared on the field, to greet them in a dignified manner at the scene of the old great battles, in front of their own audience.
