Yesterday it was revealed that DVSC SCHAEFFLER will be in the Champions League 2023/24 field with a free card. Knowing the new challenge, we asked our head coach, Zoltán Szilágyi, about the season ahead.
Zoltán Szilágyi and his assistant, Kitti Kudor, are currently working with the junior national team preparing for the European Championship in Romania, and of course they were excitedly waiting for the news whether our team would receive a free card from the European federation.
“As soon as the news became public, I received a lot of messages, many of them congratulated us on our participation in the Champions League,” said our head coach. “Playing in the Champions League is a great recognition and at the same time a huge task. With the free card, the European Handball Federation appreciated the past of the DVSC, the work going on here, since this decision includes the work of all members of the club. In addition to the employees, the players and the staff. Anyway, the girls are motivated, but this opportunity can encourage everyone to work even harder. We have a difficult season ahead of us, as we play 14 games in the CL group against the top of the continent. This series is a great opportunity for development, we want to take our place in the elite league as well.”
